Privacy

LetterFerry is a product of Focus State. This notice covers the public Coming Soon website, launch signups and the account features described below. The public site does not currently offer a live mailing service. Account and mailing features are being developed separately.

Launch updates and marketing email

When you request LetterFerry email updates, we record your email address, signup source, the consent wording and its version, and the time of your request. We also record confirmation, preference changes and delivery or suppression events needed to honor your choices. A new Resend subscription requires you to confirm your email address. Creating an account, making a purchase or submitting a general inquiry does not subscribe you to marketing.

Resend processes confirmation, transactional and marketing emails. LetterFerry uses a separate brand segment and topic within the shared Focus State email service. Joining LetterFerry updates does not subscribe you to another Focus State brand. A LetterFerry unsubscribe changes your LetterFerry preference; a global unsubscribe or an abuse-related suppression can prevent email across the shared service. We do not silently reverse those stops.

Earlier waitlist entries were collected through Formspree, which stored submissions and sent signup notifications to Focus State. Those records are retained under the original notice. We do not automatically import them into the new confirmed email list. Formspree and our hosting providers may process technical request information, including IP addresses, to operate their services and prevent abuse.

To limit repeated signup attempts, we keep temporary keyed hashes of email addresses and network addresses, plus request counts. These abuse-prevention records are routinely cleared after 24 hours by our scheduled worker; an interruption can delay cleanup. They are separate from the consent and suppression records needed to honor your email choices.

Account information and service messages

When a connected account service is available, Clerk handles authentication and Supabase stores application records. These can include your account identity, workspace membership, email preferences and the information you choose to provide for mailing. Transactional messages concern your account or requested activity and are separate from optional marketing. Turning off marketing does not turn off essential account messages.

The public waitlist does not ask for postal addresses, payment details, mailing documents or recipient lists. Do not send those materials through the waitlist or an accessibility report. A local demonstration uses test records and does not send real mail. We will update this notice before launching additional processing that is not described here.

Optional measurement and error reports

Where configured, PostHog measures site use, Vercel Web Analytics measures visits, Vercel Speed Insights measures page performance, and Sentry reports application errors. Each optional service requires its own consent. Rejecting them does not prevent you from reading public content or using necessary signup and account functions. Session recording and advertising tracking are not enabled by this notice.

Telemetry is configured to exclude mailing content, recipient addresses, documents and subscriber email addresses. Email confirmation and preference links can contain private tokens; those links must not be included in telemetry. Providers can still receive technical connection information when an enabled service sends a request. Read our cookie and measurement notice for the controls.

Why we process information

We use signup information to provide the updates you request, account information to provide requested account functions, and limited technical records to protect and operate the service. Optional marketing and measurement rely on your choice. Where data protection law requires a legal basis, requested service processing supports providing that service, and security processing supports our interest in preventing abuse. We do not sell your personal information.

Service providers and storage

Vercel hosts the site. The providers named above process information for their stated roles; only configured services and features receive the corresponding data. They may process data outside your country. We do not promise that all data stays in one country. Contact us if you need details about a particular provider or processing location before using a feature.

We retain waitlist entries until you request removal or until 90 days after launch, unless you separately choose to sign up for the product. Consent and suppression records may need to remain to document your choices and prevent further unwanted email. Account deletion, provider exports and removal requests are handled through the contact below; removing a browser cookie does not delete server records. We do not claim automatic deletion of all provider records when you unsubscribe.

Your choices and requests

Use the unsubscribe or preference link in a marketing email, or your account's email settings, to change LetterFerry marketing choices. Use Cookie settings in the footer to change optional measurement choices. Withdrawal stops future optional collection; it does not recall data already sent. Keep confirmation and preference links private because they grant access to the associated email choice.

To request access, correction, an export or deletion, or to ask about this notice, contact Focus State using the relevant email address. We may need to verify that the request belongs to you. Depending on your location, you may also have rights to object to or restrict processing and to complain to your local data protection authority.
